The argument was made on blogTO earlier today, and quickly refuted, that shooting video of TTC employees is prohibited. Fortunately, the regulation in Bylaw 1 only applies to commercial video.
3.17 No person shall operate any camera, video recording device, movie camera or any similar device for commercial purposes upon the transit system without authorization.
What’s sad, though, is that according to the union-negotiated complaints terms I blogged about yesterday, a video identifying an employee cannot actually be used as a complaint, or to instigate an investigation into poor behaviour on the job.
